Mercury Figurine

Roman bronze statuette of a seated Hermes/Mercury portrays the god in heroic nudity save for a riding cloak on his left shoulder and back. His torso and head turn slightly to the left. The naturalistic style of the figure represents the artistic tradition that originated in classical Greece of the 5th century BCE; however, the style was widely employed in Classical, Hellenistic, and Roman art. This figure recalls a life-size bronze figure of Hermes/Mercury from the Villa of the Papyri in Herculaneum, which dates to the late 1st century BCE or early 1st century CE. *Please note that the base the figurine is seated upon is not original.*

The downloadable files are in an .STL format which is optimal for 3D printing. We suggest using a free software such as Meshmixer to edit the file to your needs.
